Venue

The conference will take place in the "Sala Congressi E. Migneco" of the INFN-LNS located in Via Santa Sofia 62, 95125 Catania (just next to the Physics Department of the University of Catania).

Arriving by plane

From Fontanarossa International Airport or from the Railway Station you can easily reach the Conference Venue or Catania city center, either by taxi or public transportations.

• Taxi: There are several Taxi companies operating inside Catania Airport, applying different rates. The approximate cost of ride from the Airport to the Conference Venue or the city center is approximately 25-30 € with the company Radio Taxi Catania (phone number: +39 095330966). We recommend you to call upon your arrival. The taxi rank of Radio Taxi Catania is on the first Floor (at the Departures Terminal). Other taxis can be found on the ground floor (at the Arrivals Terminal). We highly recommend taking the Radio Taxi company as their prices are fixed compared to other taxi companies. If you want to get out at the Conference Venue, please indicate the following address to the taxi driver: INFN-LNS, via Santa Sofia 62, 95125 Catania.

• Public Transportations (Bus/Metro): The bus line ”Alibus”  (line 457) connects regularly  Fontanarossa Airport with Catania city center. Once you arrive in Catania city center by Alibus, we suggest you to get out at the Railway Station (“Stazione Centrale”) or in “Piazza Stesicoro”. The bus ticket is € 4.00 and can be purchased on the bus or from the Dropticket app.

From the center of the city

• Metro: The most efficient method of transportation in Catania is the Metro. In the city center you can take the metro in one of these two stations, Giovanni XXIII and Stesicoro. To reach the Conference Venue, you must get out at the metro station Milo, where you will find a shuttle bus connecting with the Department of Physics (Cittadella Universitaria). The ticket prices for the metro is € 1.00 for 90 minutes and € 2.00 for one day. The shuttle bus is free for people in hold of a metro ticket.

• Bus: Alternatively, the bus line BRT directly connects the city center with the Conference Venue. You can catch the BRT in “Piazza Stesicoro” and get out in “via Santa Sofia” (Cittadella Universitaria). It must be note that a bus ticket is generally not sold on the bus. One can purchase a ticket from a "tabaccheria" or online from the mobile app Dropticket for both Apple and Android.

Arriving by car

• If you arrive from the highway A18 Messina-Catania, leave the highway at the exit “Catania Ovest” and drive further to  the "Cittadella Universitaria" (Viale Andrea Doria 6). After that, at the first cross road, turn to the right in Via S. Sofia. The third gate in via Santa Sofia is the entrance of the "Cittadella Universitaria". You will see the Department of Physics immediately on your right side.

• If you arrive from the airport, from Palermo or Siracusa, drive on the "Tangenziale Ovest"  and leave it at the exit "Circonvallazione".  Then proceed further for 5-6 km until you will see the "Cittadella Universitaria" on your left side.
